Compatible Electronics is NVLAP-accredited (Lab Code 200527-0) for IEC 60204-1 and EN 60204-1 safety testing — covering the electrical equipment of industrial machinery — at our Lake Forest/Silverado location.
IEC 60204-1 specifies requirements for the electrical, electronic, and programmable electronic equipment and systems of machines — encompassing control circuits, protective devices, conductors, enclosures, and documentation. It is harmonized under the EU Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) as EN 60204-1 and is referenced by virtually all industrial machinery safety assessments globally.
The standard covers stationary and mobile machines not held in hand during use, including CNC machine tools, packaging machines, printing presses, conveyors, and robotic systems. Industrial machinery also typically requires EMC testing — our lab performs ESD immunity, surge immunity, and radiated emissions testing in combined visits.
💡 Machinery Directive: EN 60204-1 compliance is required for CE marking under the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Most industrial machinery intended for the European market must demonstrate conformity with this standard.
